At Hello Tutor, we want every session to be a positive experience. That means creating an environment where students feel supported and tutors feel respected. This Code of Conduct sets out what we expect from everyone who uses our platform.
If a student is under 18, we ask that a parent or guardian take responsibility for making sure these guidelines are read, understood, and followed.
Turning Up Ready to Learn
We ask that students arrive on time and prepared for each session. Your tutor has set aside dedicated time for you, and showing up ready makes a real difference to what you can achieve together.
Make sure your device, camera, and internet connection are working before the session starts. Joining from a quiet space, free from distractions, will help you get the most out of your time.
Treating Everyone with Respect
Hello Tutor is a place where students from all backgrounds come to learn. We expect everyone to treat tutors and fellow users with respect at all times. This includes the language used during sessions and in any messages sent through the platform.
Harassment or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the platform.
Keeping Communication Appropriate
All communication between students and tutors should take place through the Hello Tutor platform. Students should not attempt to contact tutors through personal phone numbers, social media, or any other channel outside of Hello Tutor. Arranging or attempting to meet a tutor outside of scheduled sessions, whether online or in person, is not permitted.
Sessions are for learning. Please keep conversations focused and appropriate at all times. Using abusive, threatening, or sexually inappropriate language or behaviour toward anyone on the platform will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Learning with Integrity
Hello Tutor is here to support your learning, not to do it for you. We expect students to use the platform in good faith. Tutors are not permitted to complete assignments, assessments, or examinations on behalf of students, and students should not request this.
Keeping Students Safe
If anything happens during a session that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please report it to us straight away. We take every concern seriously and will always act on it promptly. Your safety matters to us and we are here to help.
What Happens If This Is Not Followed
We hope students choose to uphold this Code of Conduct because they understand why it matters, not simply because they have to. However, where these guidelines are not followed, Hello Tutor reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove access to the platform. In serious cases, matters will be referred to the relevant authorities.
